10:53 pm - 2009 where did you go? Well hard to belive there is only a week and half left of this year. It just flew by so fast and yet even the past decade as well. Either way, I am happy. This will be the 4th Christmas that finny and I have been together for the holidays and it sure hasn't seemed that long yet at the same time it feels we have been together much longer. We held a holiday gather for some friendsw last weekend. First time we had a group that big here since we took over the whole upper level of the house. It was fun and all who were here had a great time. We are thinking that for next year we will plan a party with Build-A-Bear Workshop. And get each other a plush for the holidays. Other then that not much to say other then: HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU ON MY FRIENDS LIST. I hope this season brings you many joys and smiles and good memories that you will cherish for years to come. 07:59 am Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last Monday I donated bone marrow to gurux in a life-saving procedure (300 points). Last week I turned plushbot27 in for running naked in the mall (3 points). In March I signed my organ donor card (28 points). In May I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points). 07:55 am - Winter Well the first big chill run of the winter is upon us. November was rather mild and then, BAM, we get hit pretty good. It was -17C/1F with the windchill -24C/-11F. But it is the time for arctic fronts to play so we just deal with it. Snow and ice on the sidewalks and roads is slippery but the white coating does look pretty over lawns and such. Hard to believe that Christmas will soon be here and then the end of yet another year. We have started our holiday shopping which is fun in my opinion. And this year both Finnyb and I feel alot of the spirit of the holidays this year. Well hope you all keep your hot chocolate near by and have a great day. 11:35 pm - SD Gundam Well I was out hunting for some figures today and ended up with these 2 little critters. Gundam BB-304 Sousou Gundam BB-327 Souhi I find them rather cute and plan to collect the rest of this set and a few others. And for $12 each I felt it was a decent price. 12:11 am - Drawing Well I am trying to get back into drawing. I had given it up many years back due to one rather stupid art teacher. He felt that anything that wasn't pictures of food or trees could not be art at all. I had a rather good talent at the time for drawing cityscapes. And as a result most of us failed that course and almost all gave it up. Yes that was back in Junior/Senior high school but events like that can have lasting damage. Recently though it seems the talent has been trying to come back to me but with a more fantasy aspect tossed in so I felt why not go for it. Now I am just looking for suggestions on what is a moderate suggestion for sketch paper. I don't want super pricy but at the same time I don't want the really cheap crap either. Some have told me to work with digital but I feel that it is better to work with paper first to get the feel back. It was kinda funny when the urge first hit me again a couple weeks ago I grabbed some paper and pencil and just started drawing a random dragon image that popped into my head. It was weird case at that time it was all I could think of, like a fever struck. since that I have felt little ideas come to me and just slowly working at it. Oh yeah, for anyone who was wondering, that teacher got his teaching license/degree revoked after word of how he treated "aspiring artists" as not having any skills reached a district head. 11:30 am - Colorado Bound Well tomorrow morning finnyb and I head to the airport to fly down to Colorado for our holidays. This should a rather fun trip.. Getting to attend my first renaisance fair and to visit the mother-in-law. Plus getting to meet plushbot27 So it should be good. We will be down there from tomorrow, June 25 until Tuesday June 30th so no online for us. But I will have my e-mail if anyone does need to reach me. 02:19 am - BLAH & COUGH Sadly, Sunday night I got slammed with the cold/flu bug that finnyb caught from work. And now I feel even worse then I did then. Hacking cough, chills, muscle spasms and overall just feel like crap. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. And the bad part is that bugs like this keep making rotations around our job. So just as you get over one, within a week or 2 you get a new one to keep you company. Even walking with this latest one is a challenge due to dizzy spells and just stiffness. 07:01 am - A Kind Soul Well our way to work this morning finnyb and I dropped by the convenience store near work to get breakfast as we usually do. There was one woman in line in front of us so we just waited. She turned and glanced at us with almost a look of womdering if she knew us then moved off to the side. Just as we were about to pay for our items she puts money on the counter saying "I'll get what they are having'. We thanked her but by the time we turned around there was no trace of her. It was almost like she wasn't even there. We are grateful but surprised. So if by some chance this person sees this post thands again. Current Mood: grateful
